And don´t forget your passport!

Visiting Yorkshire

I stayed at a friends house for nine days in Sheffield which is one of Yorkshires cities in northern England. So here are some of the very nice activities we`ve done:

Visit at Wentworth Castle Gardens:

We went to several parks with castles – every one has its own story. They were amazing to play football in. In Wentworth Castle Gardens there were two thrones on which you could sit:

The environment was also stunning:

Trip to Alton Towers:

Alton Towers is a theme park in Alton near Staffordshire. It is the biggest theme park in the United Kingdom, and also the biggest I´ve ever been to. I´ve never been to an english theme park before, but it was my favorite so far. It was nice that you could already look at the pictures a camera took during your ride, the minute you stepped out:

Traditional Sunday lunch:

On Sunday we will have a traditional Sunday lunch. I already read a lot of good things from the internet about a traditional Sunday lunch.

The family where I stayed told me what is a part of the menue:

  • roast beef
  • cauliflower cheese
  • and Yorkshire puddings

They told me that there are a lot of different variations but this is the one they mostly have.

Something I won´t eat again is pork scratchings, so if you want to try it, you´ll need to be aware of a very special taste – and good luck chewing it!

I am really looking forward to my next trip!
